WE WON’T BE TRAVELING FOR CHRISTMAS, and our kids won’t be coming here. Instead, we’ll be hunkering down. Still. Again. Waiting out the current surge and learning another letter of the Greek alphabet. We know we’re luckier than many others. Everyone is healthy and employed. Our weekly family Zoom dinners and daily phone calls and FaceTime are helping us stay close, feel together.
But we’re also just tired. We’re ready to travel again, to be places, to do ordinary things and feel safe. And we’re ready for everyone to take this seriously—if not for themselves, then for others around them.
However you’re spending the holidays this year, have fun. Eat well, overindulge, celebrate—we certainly will. But be careful out there, for you and for others. And yes, that is a giant inflatable Santa in a Bears jersey in someone’s living room in our neighborhood. See you next week.
Hope you guys have a wonderful holiday! See you next year. 🙂
So nicely said, Terry. Sentiments I certainly can relate to. I wish you and your family — and all your readers and wonderful friends, ahem — a very healthy and happy holiday. Hope to hear about some of your own yummy overindulging. And any other strange Santa sightings. ~ Ronnie Ann
At least we have the technology to be able to speak and see one another, but I really miss the hugs.
I wish you, and everyone, a happy and healthy holiday!
