The Dill Dijon Sauce on this Seared Salmon Fillet tastes rich, calorific and sinful, but is in fact 100% fat free.

SUNDAY DINNERS USED TO BE A REGULAR THING WITH US. First, with a rotating cast of friends, and then as we had kids, with family and the occasional friend. Then the girls grew up and moved to other cities, and Sunday dinners became much less frequent. Ironically, the pandemic revived them for us.
Early on, when no one was traveling and we didn’t know if it was safe to even be together, we started sharing Sunday family dinners via Zoom, thanks to our Detroit daughter. Now more Sundays than not, we get together with our daughters and their companions in their respective cities, and Marion’s sister in her north side Chicago apartment. While it’s not quite the same as all being at one table, it feels so nice and keeps us feeling connected.
The other day in our garden, seeing numerous lush dill plants growing, I was reminded of this simple, luxurious tasting sauce that we served on salmon fillets at a Sunday dinner years ago. It’s a mix of Dijon mustard, nonfat plain yogurt and fresh dill. That’s it. And while it’s delicious on salmon, it would also be wonderful on pork chops or grilled chicken. You’ll find the recipe and wistful stories of Sunday dinners past right here.
